"The Day No One Played Together" is a cute story about two sisters who find themselves in an all too common situation where both want to play different games but neither wants to play alone. In the end they learn that through compromise they can find creative new ways to play all of their favorite games together without having to choose one over the other!

What a great way to teach an important lesson! I loved how well written it was and how easy it was for my daughter to follow along. In addition to great child-appropriate writing, the story was also beautifully illustrated! I look forward to reading this story with my daughter time and time again ~

Even though this story deals with siblings, the conflict the girls experience is one that is played out in early childhood classrooms on a routine basis. This is a great story for early childhood educators to introduce the topic of compromise and how to be a good friend. I am adding this title to my bibliotherapy resource list.
Great book to teach children about compromise, written for them to understand. I read it to my grandson's class.
This short story packs a punch. It's about two sisters who love each other very much yet cannot agree on which game to play. As a result of their indecision each one plays alone yet misses the others companionship. The mother brings them together by getting them to understand the principle of compromise. This should be standard reading for the White House and Congress!!! Fun book with much to teach. Nice illustrations.
Wow, I love books. As a teacher in special education, the book has to quickly engage the child, and maintain that focus. This book did just that. There is a lesson involved, and it is directly introduced to the students. As a class we were able to make several lessons plans from the story. One was the included vocabulary, another was having the children role play the activity and carry the lesson over to the classroom, and playground.. Thanks Donalisa for the wonderful story.. I can't wait until your next book... The drawings were so cute..
I like that this book covered a great topic to teach to kids. I can see myself using this with my own kids, clients and in school guidance lessons.
This book is written so well for little ones. I have a four year old and I'm constantly trying to get him to get along with his 17 month old brother and about sharing toys. This book tells a fun story about two sisters that learn to compromise with each other to have more fun playing with each other then it playing separate. It has great colorful pictures and it explains some key words at the end so your child will understand the story's message. I'm excited to read more by this author!
A cute lesson about compromising between sisters that all families should read to learn from. Siblings always seem to struggle with sharing and deciding what to do, understandably so as each knows how to express their own opinion.

This tale addresses that issue and a couple of options on how to make everyone happy.

Be sure to read this book to understand you do have options as a parent and teach your children they can make a choice that works well for both or all of them.

Thanks for reading,

Sarah Butland
