Major Crush Simon Romantic Comedies Jennifer Echols Books

Virginia Sauter, a once beauty pageant participant, leaves the dresses, gets her nose pierced, and becomes drum major at her school. Let me rephrase that for you: Virginia is drum major along with Drew. 1)Virginia is the first girl drum major, ever, 2) Drew hates her (and of course Virginia "hates" him too even though she has a major crush on him) and 3) people say that Virginia slept with the band director just to get the position. So overall, things aren't looking up for Virginia. And things aren't looking up for the band either, due to their first performance. Can Virginia and Drew both pull it together for the sake of the band? And will they end up falling for eachother?

Another Hate/Love story, gotta love them. I know I do. Virginia is such a likeable character. She doesn't take anything from anyone. She back talks to Drew when he's mean to her (which turns out to be a lot)-she's just very strong.

Jennifer Echols is an amazing writer and her writing has so much laugh out loud quality. Her characters are rediculously embarassing and overall realistic. This is a must read. You'll read it once and then come back to it again and again because it's that entertaining.

Will I reread it?
Now speaking of this book, I do-right now! Maybe I'll grab my Kindle and get reading!

Major Crush Simon Romantic Comedies Jennifer Echols Books Reviews

I love these types of books after a long day of work, when your brain needs something to relax with or when everything has gone wrong and you just need a guaranteed happy ending. This is no Pride and Prejudice or Nora Roberts- but it has its place. It's your quick romcom fix! Put the critic inside you to sleep and just read and enjoy!
I really enjoyed the book and have read it at least three times, but unless everything is really different in the south, the marching band stuff is really inaccurate. We get scores, not marks. They're competitions, not contests. And never, ever, have I heard of a band voting for their drum major, also my band always has at least three drum majors. Theres usually a vigorous audition process they have to go through. Looking over these things though its still an adorable story on band kid love and I still enjoy reading it.
My oldest son is not a big reader for pleasure (and certainly not romance books), but Jennifer told us about this book and I got it for him. He could not put it down. That was the fastest I have ever seen him read any book. Some of the appeal may have been because he is in band and could relate to the story line, but I think most of it is because of Jennifer's witty and not-too-sappy writing style. I just bought Jennifer's next book The Boys Next Door, so we'll see if he digs that too!
One of my favorites!
I read this book as a teen and still find myself picking up this book today. The book has great characters and a good story line. I thought the story line was great! I would definitely recommend this book to
This was a delightful quick read I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters grow to a slight degree, while interacting well with one another. The atmosphere was believable (as a person who participated in a high school band that was very different, but had similar aspects). I was rooting for the main characters, and even enjoyed their flaws making them more real. The band director made me laugh, but there were serious elements, as well, for a nice balance.

If you're looking for a quick, fun read, I suggest you pick up this book. Not only was I not disappointed, but am willing to check out other books in this series with similar ratings.
(And, it's a book with a realistic band!)
This is my first review, and I hope to do justice to this book. This was such a nice break from the young adult paranormal books that I've been reading. I read Jennifer Echols' "Going Too Far," and liked the voice that she gave young adults so much that I picked "Major Crush" as a follow-up read. Boy am I glad! Its got a great premise for tension between the two main characters, wonderful snarky (and funny) dialogue, realistic situations that set up for some nice steamy moments, and a satisfying overall story. In fact, I finished this book in one sitting and promptly re-read it. I look forward to reading more stories from this author.
